About the Project
The English part of the ooo-info.org project was started to show examples and to transfer know how concerning macro programming for OpenOffice.org. To a workshop project we were also encouraged on the OpenOffice.org conference 2005 in Koper (Slovenia).
Up to now practical experience shows that it is quite difficult to get started with macro programming for the suite. On the other hand if first obstacles are overcome a real universe of optimizing and invidual customisation opens up.
When we were asked here in Munich to publish a book at the beginning of 2005 we met many prejudices resulting from VBA experiences with MS Office. As a consequence time and effort for publishing procjects are often underestimated. Result: many publications are not helpful enough.
Finally we decided to publish online first and to deliver complete tools, demos and API know in English due to the international community. One vision is that the different approaches in tool development to ease macro programming can be brought in line.
